Carissa Hansen
Carissa is an undergraduate research assistant in the Khoshbouei lab since Fall of 2018. She is majoring in Psychology with an emphasis on Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience, and Criminology.
Carissa is currently investigating the relationship between dopamine transporter (DAT) and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) in Parkinsonism mice injected with Alpha-synuclein. The aim is to search for an understanding of how quantities of tyrosine hydroxylase and dopamine transporter are altered in response to over-espression of alpha-synuclein in the striatum and midbrain regions including substantia nigra and ventral tagmental area.
