Janelle Azar
Janelle is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing Bachelors in Biology on a preprofessional track with hopes of earning an MD in the future.
She started research at the McKnight Brain institute during her first semester as a freshman at UF. At Khoshbouei Lab, she is currently investigating the impact of alpha-synuclein overexpression in midbrain dopaminergic neurons. She is interested in pursuing the hypothesis that aims at finding mechanisms of the disease progression and neuronal vulnerability and dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases.
